Organizations and individuals work with Maia to apply creative, trauma informed strategies to community building, collaborative problem solving, and on the job training. They select existing workshops and then add custom activities and one on one coaching, creating a package that addresses their specific needs.
An Introduction to Arts Integration
Art making processes are active ways to engage students of all ages in learning. Participants in this workshop will look at two styles of arts integration as an introduction to the wide array of arts integration options available to teachers.
Classroom as a Teaching Partner
Explore the transformative power of environment in fostering learning and supporting community values. Participants will see examples of learning environments around the world that have been transformed by the communities teaching and learning in them.
Introduction to Trauma Informed Care
Participants get foundational definitions of trauma and its impacts on the brain and body, an understanding of systemic trauma and what that looks like in public, and an introduction to the principles of trauma informed communication.
